A Disney hotel and ticket package combines your chosen Disney Resort hotel with official Disney Magic Tickets.
This can be a convenient option for UK families who want to stay inside Walt Disney World and have their Disney accommodation and park admission organised together.
Depending on the package selected, you can choose:
Always check the live Disney Holidays page to see exactly what is included in the package displayed.
Staying inside Walt Disney World can cost more than staying in an off-site Orlando hotel, but it provides several useful benefits.
Disney Resort hotel guests currently receive 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry at all four Walt Disney World theme parks on every day of their stay.
This gives eligible guests access to selected attractions, shops and dining before the normal park opening time. Disney has confirmed that this benefit will continue through 2027.
Complimentary Disney transport connects Disney Resort hotels with the theme parks, water parks and Disney Springs.
Transport options vary by hotel and can include:
Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort and Riviera Resort are connected to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios by the Disney Skyliner.
Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel are eligible to purchase Lightning Lane passes up to seven days before the start of their stay, for visits during a stay of up to 14 days.
However, Disney’s UK information states that UK visitors should purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass after arriving in the United States. Availability and prices vary by date and park.
Guests at eligible Disney Deluxe Resort hotels, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts and selected other hotels can access extended evening hours at selected parks on selected nights.
This benefit is not available at every Disney hotel, but Disney has confirmed that it will continue through 2027.
Disney Resort hotels are generally divided into Value, Moderate and Deluxe categories.
The right category depends on how much time you expect to spend at the hotel, your preferred transport and the amount of space your family needs.
Value Resorts are normally the lowest-priced way to stay at a Disney Resort hotel.
They offer colourful Disney theming, swimming pools, food courts and Disney transport, although rooms and resort facilities are generally more basic than at Moderate and Deluxe hotels.
Best for: value and Disney Skyliner access.
Pop Century is one of the strongest options for families who want an affordable Disney hotel with convenient transport to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Rooms are relatively compact, so consider how much luggage and living space your family will need during a longer stay.
Best for: families prioritising a lower Disney hotel price.
All-Star Movies provides recognisable Disney film theming and bus transport to the parks.
Compare its live price with Pop Century. Paying slightly more for Pop Century may be worthwhile when the Skyliner will save your family time.
Best for: character theming and family suites.
Art of Animation offers Little Mermaid standard rooms as well as larger family suites themed around Disney and Pixar films.
The suites provide additional sleeping and living space, although they can cost considerably more than a standard Value Resort room.
Moderate Resorts usually provide more detailed theming, larger grounds and additional dining and recreation options.
Best for: first-time families wanting convenient Skyliner transport.
Caribbean Beach is the main Disney Skyliner interchange. It provides direct connections towards EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The resort is large, so room location can significantly affect the amount of walking required.
Best for: a smaller and more relaxed Disney Resort.
French Quarter has a more compact layout than many other Disney hotels. It offers bus transport to the parks and boat transport to Disney Springs.
It can be a good choice for families who want a calmer hotel without moving into the Deluxe price category.
Best for: modern rooms and a wider choice of facilities.
Coronado Springs combines Disney Resort benefits with a more understated style. It has several dining options and the Gran Destino Tower, but park transport is primarily by bus.
Deluxe Resorts generally offer premium locations, more elaborate facilities and a broader selection of restaurants.
Eligible Deluxe Resort guests can also use extended evening theme park hours on selected dates.
Best for: access to Magic Kingdom.
Guests can walk between the Contemporary Resort and Magic Kingdom. The Resort Monorail also serves the hotel.
The convenient location can be particularly useful for families with young children who expect to spend several days at Magic Kingdom.
Best for: EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Beach Club is within walking distance of EPCOT’s International Gateway and offers walking and boat access towards Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The nearby Skyliner station at International Gateway provides another transport option.
Its location can save substantial travelling time during an EPCOT-focused holiday.
Best for: immersive theming and wildlife views.
Animal Kingdom Lodge offers African-inspired theming, restaurants and savannah-view room options.
It is not within walking distance of a theme park, so guests generally use Disney buses for park transport.
For most families, these are the first hotels worth comparing:
Best value with Skyliner access: Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Best Moderate Resort for first-time visitors: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Best smaller Moderate Resort: Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
Best for larger families: an Art of Animation family suite
Best for Magic Kingdom access: Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Best for EPCOT access: Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Do not choose using the hotel category alone. Compare the room layout, transport, restaurants and distance from your priority parks.
Disney Magic Tickets are designed for visitors booking from the UK and Ireland before travelling.
Disney currently offers 7-Day and 14-Day Magic Tickets. Depending on the eligible ticket selected, inclusions can include:
Children younger than three do not currently require a standard Walt Disney World theme-park ticket. Disney child tickets apply to guests aged 3–9, with adult ticket prices applying from age 10.
Lightning Lane passes are not included with a standard Magic Ticket and are purchased separately.
Read our Walt Disney World Tickets for UK Visitors guide for a more detailed explanation of the 7-Day and 14-Day options.
Free Disney Dining can provide strong value when you already plan to stay at a participating Disney Resort hotel and eat most of your meals inside Walt Disney World.
The dining benefit included in the 2027 promotion depends on your hotel category.
Participating Value Resort packages can receive a quick-service meal benefit, while selected Moderate and Deluxe Resort packages may include a more comprehensive Disney Dining Plan.
The offer is likely to suit families who:
It may be less valuable when your family expects to cook, eat off-site frequently or spend several days away from Walt Disney World.
Compare the total package price rather than judging the deal only by the words “free dining”.
A Disney hotel and ticket package is most suitable when Walt Disney World will be the main focus of your holiday.
Even when you are still comparing options, check the official Disney package price first. It gives you a reliable figure to compare against separate hotel and ticket costs.
There is no single month when every Disney World holiday is cheapest.
Begin comparing early when travelling during:
Popular Disney hotels, family room configurations and promotional room allocations can become limited.
A sensible time to book is when:
Do not assume that waiting will automatically produce a better Disney offer. Compare the live price and decide whether the hotel, tickets and included benefits provide sufficient value.
Before clicking through to book, decide what your family needs.
Flexible dates can produce substantially different hotel availability and package prices.
Search several arrival dates where possible, particularly when travelling near the beginning or end of a school holiday.
Start with a Value Resort, Moderate Resort and Deluxe Resort comparison.
This will show how much you would pay for better transport, more space or a premium location.
Confirm the number and type of beds, maximum occupancy and whether the room provides enough space for your family.
A 14-Day Magic Ticket normally provides more flexibility for a two-week Disney-focused holiday.
A 7-Day ticket may be sufficient when you also plan to visit Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, Discovery Cove or other Florida attractions.
Check which dining benefit applies to your selected hotel and calculate whether your family is likely to use it.
Use the final package total rather than comparing only the opening advertised price.
A slightly more expensive hotel with Skyliner, monorail or walking access may save considerable time during the holiday.
A Deluxe Resort may not provide good value when you intend to spend every day away from the hotel.
Avoid paying for 14 Disney park days when a large part of your holiday will be spent at Universal or elsewhere in Orlando.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Single Pass and Premier Pass are optional paid products and are separate from standard park admission.
The dining entitlement depends on the participating hotel and package. Gratuities and excluded purchases remain payable.
Include resort, pool and rest days. A more balanced itinerary can make a two-week holiday considerably more enjoyable.
Read our Orlando 14-Day Itinerary for UK Families for a realistic park and rest-day plan.
The package normally combines your selected Disney Resort hotel with an eligible Disney Magic Ticket. Dining options and promotional benefits depend on the package, hotel and travel dates chosen.
Yes. Disney is currently offering free dining and drinks with eligible Disney hotel and ticket packages for selected 2027 arrivals. The current booking deadline is 4 November 2026.
Caribbean Beach is a strong first-time option because of its Disney Skyliner connections. Pop Century may provide better value when keeping the hotel cost lower is the priority.
It can be worthwhile when Disney is the main focus of your holiday and you will use Early Theme Park Entry, Disney transport and the hotel’s location.
Eligible adult 7-Day and 14-Day Disney Magic Tickets currently include Memory Maker. Check the current ticket description before booking.
No. Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Single Pass and Premier Pass are optional purchases separate from park admission.
Disney’s current UK information directs visitors to purchase eligible Lightning Lane passes after arrival in the United States.
Children younger than three do not currently need a standard Walt Disney World theme-park ticket.
It can provide useful flexibility during a two-week holiday, allowing you to revisit favourite parks and spread Disney visits around rest days and other Orlando attractions.
That depends on your itinerary. A full Disney stay is convenient for a Disney-focused trip, while a split stay may reduce travelling when you plan several Universal Orlando days.
